Ideal For: Girly Swirly readers who read on vibes and want an easy-to-digest escape into a fun magic realm, with romantic undertones and a splash of spice!

Vibe: Fast paced and action packed, quick and easy read, fun and romantic

Spice: 🌶 (romantic descriptions and one open door scene)

Book Parents: If Fourth Wing and Crimson Moth had a baby… and it acted like a preteen. No witches or (ridable) dragons, but those vibes while reading!

Tropes and Elements: Fey, inherent character specific magic, games and trials, forbidden love, forced proximity/one bed, new old flame

Series: “Fey Spy Academy”, Book 1 of 3. Book 2 (Vale of Dreams) is released, Book 3 (Lady of the Lake) coming March 20, 2025.

Formats: ALL are/will be on KindleUnlimited. Hardback, paperback, and audible versions all also available.

Summary: Spotted: Nia, the sweet bookseller with big dreams of lounging on the beach, champagne in hand, and the world’s best reads by her side. But of course, things don’t always go according to plan. Enter Raphael—muscular, tattooed, and an absolute jerk of a fey. And, oh yeah, he basically kidnaps her.

Turns out, Nia’s got a hidden power, and Raphael’s hell-bent on using her for his own revenge against an evil Fey king. So much for sipping cocktails by the shore, huh? Now, Nia’s stuck training at Camelot’s elite academy for spies. Spoiler alert: she’s out of shape, asthmatic, and way, way in over her head.

But here’s the kicker—Raphael’s not just a pain in the neck. He’s lethal, dangerous, and hotter than a summer day in the Hamptons. And when they’re sent on a high-risk mission together, let’s just say, sparks fly… in more ways than one. Is she ready to risk it all and play with fire? Only one way to find out.Watch out, Nia—this is one ride you might not survive.

XOXO, Kindle Girl: I had a good time reading this book, but not quite in the swoon-worthy, life changing way. I read it before Rebel Witch dropped, right after a Heartless Hunter re-read, and let’s just say… expectations were high. It was fun, a nice little palate cleanser, but it did feel a little Young Adult for what I was hoping. The characters felt (and acted) younger and less mature than I was wanting – but that’s just me!

If it weren’t for that one (pretty mild) spicy scene, it would’ve been straight-up YA. Still, a great read, just not the one to blow your mind if that’s what you’re looking for. A perfect little break from earth shattering darkness if you need one though!

Did I nail the vibes on this one? Let me know.

XOXO, Kindle Girl
