Ideal for: the girly swirly vibes reader who wants an action packed duopoly, with lots of depth to the magic and plot.

Vibe: action packed, very fast paced, quick read. More clear heroism than in book one – there is lots of character growth in this sequel!

Spice: 🌶

Book Parents: still the lovey-er, witchy-er version of One Dark Window / Two Twisted Crowns – but throw in some Throne of Glass world-saving vibes!

Tropes and Elements: witches, political intrigue, deep magic system, dual POV, enemies to allies, forced proximity, one bed, who did this to you

Series: “Crimson Moth”, book 2 of 2

Formats: While the prequel Heartless Hunter, is on KindleUnlimited, Rebel Witch is not. I purchased on Kindle, but hardback, paperback, and audible versions all also available.

Summary: Spotted: Rune Winters, the runaway witch with a heart full of secrets, and Gideon Sharpe, the brooding with hunter with a vendetta like no other. What happens when he’s sent to not only track her down, but take her out? Can he do it, or is their world going to go up in flames?

Run is on the run, but she never expected become the fiancé to a prince on the continent. Gideon is hot on her trail, determined to end her before she can do any more damage. But with a third party at play, the two of them become tangled in a web of lies, deceit, magic, and dangerous alliances. Anddd with all those things, how could the tension and chemistry between these two be ignored?

With the clock ticking and political games reaching a boiling point, Rune and Gideon are going to have to freaking sack up and decide once and for all if they can trust each other. Will their hearts betray them in the end, or will they get their shit together and figure out how to survive?

xoxo, Kindle Girl: Well this is a duology that knows how to wrap things up with a bang. Rebel Witch was a funnn second half of the Crimson Moth duology, and ties everything together with enough closure that we can finally move on.

Gosh – dual POV just speaks to me. Do you love it when both MCs get their say?! I honestly couldn’t pick a side if you made me, so I love having the perspective of both of these maturing characters. I spent less of the book wanting to throw things for their lack of communication than I did in the first – so that was FANTASTIC.

I’m not saying this was a perfect sequel though… There was something about the pacing that made sections feel very rushed to me. All the transport from location to location felt rushed and gave me a touch of whiplash. I didn’t feel this vibe in HH, so it was a little off-putting from this series. A few more quiet moments, a little more breathing, room, and this book would be a chef’s kiss form me!

Even still, this romantasy duology is one I’ll recommend EVERY TIME. What about you? Would you pawn this off on your gal pals? Which book did you like better?!

xoxo, Kindle Girl
